1 journey, 10 directors, 1 cinema….really meaning full. I really wondered to hear the specialty of this cinema in a supplement and decided see it. 10 different directors making 10 short films and making it as a cinema. The second story starts when the first story ends. And all characters in the cinema come in one frame in the climax. Really amazing and appreciable. The short films in kerala cafe are…. 1,nostalgia Story of a gulf family. Directed by M.Padhmakumar. nostalgia shows the nostalgic feeling of a rich man johny kutti(dileep) Navya nair casted as his wife and he have two children. The character shows the ugly mentality of a negative thinker. We can see such a person in between us. 2, island express Story of an artist, story of a train driver, story of middle aged man who was a athlete, story of grandmother, story of a military officer and story of so many people. Island express shows the feelings of one of the huge tragedy which happened in Kerala. I think it is “kadalundi train tragedy” The director Shankar ramakrishnan visualized the whole scenes in different manner. The climax is beyond our imagination. 3,Lalitham hiranmayam May be this is the first love story by the action director Shaji Kailas. The title of this film is very interesting as compared to the story. A middle class man (suresh gopi), his wife lalitha(jyothirmayi) and his daughter. He had an affair with another girl Hiranmayi(dhanya-vairam,thalappavu fame) so the two female’s name lalitha and hiranmayi,hence the film titled as lalitham hiranmayam. 4,Mrithyunjayam This is some what horror touch movie in this series. The story is based on a “mana” which the society believes it contain some super nature powers. The shanu fahad(son of the director fazil) is the main role. The director Udhay ananthan made it in horror manner and the climax is just funny and unexpecting. 5,Happy journey The cute little director anjali menon done a wonderful job and I am appreciating her. A very terrible like story becoming a comedy story in the climax. And the expressions of the great actor jagathi sreekumar is amazing. We can see such a character also in the society. Some middle aged men who is very interested in ladies. 6,Aviramam The second love story in this series directed by B.Unnikrishnan. Story of two lovable couples and their child. Here the hero(siddique) is an IT field business man who suffers from a lot of problems. But the one and only strength for him is his wife (shwetha menon). The hero sent his wife and children to their home and decided to suicide. But his wife comes back and he also comes back to live. The unity of their mind is covered very nicely. 7, off season A small humorous story of kuttappai(suraj venjaramoodu) by Shyama Prasad. This story says about the friendship of a common man and two foreign visitors. The director trying to say that there is some poor people in every developed country. Among all the films of kerala cafe I felt this is only a normal film. 8, Bridge I really wondered to know that there is another type of director inside Anvar rasheed. Actually the bridge contains two different stories of two different families. A cute cat is also a character of this film. A hyper thinking or a high status man, his son, a servant, and a cute cat are the first story. A poor man, his wife, daughter, and his mother are in the second story. The both stories say the dirty mentality of today’s humans. The climax frame is the thing which I like very much in this film. The two main roles passing through one bridge and the another two main characters sitting.    9, Makal Here the heroin comes as director. The blessed actor Revathy directed a socially important theme. This story says about the mafia who is selling and exporting child and the agents of them. And also showing the helpless of poor families in the slums. They do anything for money.  The falling of the peacock plum is really heart touching. 10, Puram kazhchakal The whole people in the theatre are waiting for the entry of this part because of the presence of mammootty. After “oru maruvathoor kanavu” the mammootty-sreenivasan-lal jose team joined and made another good movie. In the beginning we think that the mammootty is a rude and rough character. But finally we realize that his mind was upset due to his family problem. The expression which done by him to stop the bus is only in a fraction of second, but it is quite wonderful. “pariz I love you” role model film to make a film like kerala cafe. The introduction of all characters in this film is really nature but pretty. In the climax scene all characters comes in a restaurant named “kerala cafe” and goes through one train. The great film recently in Malayalam film is “kerala café” and there is not doubt, no argumentation…..I am heartily congratulating the director Ranjith and his friends for willing to make such a film….
